Ernie Grant Smith, age 75, born January 22, 1947 passed away peacefully at his home October 6, 2022 after a 4-year battle with cancer. He was of the Baptist faith. He joined Calvary Baptist Church at the age of 16. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved his family very much.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife of 53 years, Linda Evans Smith; daughter, Robyn Smith Haney and husband, Dr. Jack Haney of Oak Ridge; sister Wanda Licklider and husband Paul of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Reese, Jake, Will, and Hayes; nephews, Robert Licklider, Kevin Licklider, Josh Goins, Jeremy Goins, Zach Daugherty, and Ty Daugherty; nieces, Christy Hernandez, Shana Baird, and Callie Daugherty; a host of great nieces, great nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

Ernie is preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Naomi Wilder Smith.

The family will receive friends on Friday October 7, 2022 from 5 PM to 7 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. The family will meet on Saturday October 8, 2022 at 10:15 AM to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for a 11 AM graveside service with Rev Kenny Gillum officiating.
