Firefighters with the La Follette Fire Department were on scene in a couple of minutes to this September 29 house fire. However, before LFD’s arrival neighbors had already rescued the occupants.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – TBI special agents continue to investigate the cause of a fire that occurred at a home in the 300 block of East Prospect Street in La Follette on September 29th. A mother and her daughter were rescued by neighbors when it was discovered that their home was on fire just before sunset last Thursday. See the related story HERE about how the women were saved from the fire.

Both victims were transported to the La Follette Medical and then airlifted from there. Officials tell WLAF that the patients were flown directly from the LMC helipad to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

“Two people were injured in the fire and are currently receiving treatment at a burn center in Nashville. At this time, foul play is not suspected. However, the investigation remains active and ongoing,” said Leslie Earhart, TBI Public Information Officer. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/06/2022-6AM)
