LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Joe Hopson along with members of the Campbell County Drug Investigation Unit and LaFollette Police Department Drug Investigation Unit rescued a one-year-old child last week from her home where her mother was allegedly selling meth. Both the county and city’s Drug Investigation Units executed a search warrant at 109 Pleasant Ridge Rd, bldg. 10 Apt. 1003, LaFollette.

On Sept. 29, officers entered the home. Two individuals were detained, while other officers checked a one-year-old child in the apartment. A search of the residence revealed scales on an end table in the living room and a set of scales in a bedroom on a dresser. A cloth bag allegedly containing several small pink bags that were empty, a bag of green leafy substance was found in the drawer of an end table in the living room and one in a purse belonging to Andrea Danille Wright, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

In a nightstand in Wright’s bedroom, detectives found a package labeled Buprenorphine and Naloxone that was open. Next to the bed was a black bag with an unopened package labeled Buprenorphine and Naloxone and a pink bag with a film inside. A clear bag containing a crystal-like substance and a cotton ball, a small corner cut bag containing a brown substance believed to be Heroin were also allegedly discovered.

Wright allegedly said she had sold a small amount of Methamphetamine. She contended she sold three or four times every few days and would usually sell a half gram of Methamphetamine for $25. According to the report, the drugs and drug paraphernalia were found within reach of the child at the apartment. The Department of Children’s Services was called and the child was released to Wright’s mother.

Wright, 27, 109 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Apt. 1003, LaFollette was charged with child abuse and neglect or endangerment, possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule I controlled substance and possession of schedule II controlled substance.
