JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Robert Byrd has been sentenced for causing a fatal traffic accident in Feb. 2021. HERE is a related story from the morning of the wreck.

Last week, Byrd was sentenced to six years to be served at 30 percent. He was given 59 days of jail credit. He will not pay restitution, only court costs, according to court records.

In Feb. 2021, Byrd was Facetiming his girlfriend when he crossed multiple lanes of traffic in LaFollette and struck a Ford driven by Adam Chapman, according to court records. Byrd was lying across the front seat of his truck, phone in hand, when emergency personnel arrived, the report said.

Chapman died later that morning from injuries sustained in the crash. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/10/2022- 6AM)

  1. Adam was my son it’s bad when you can kill a deer or elk and get more fines and time in jail than Robert Byrd did for killing my son

    1. What a shame !!! He should be under the jail the rest of his life for taking Adams life away ! No justice !
