  1. Thank you Charlie Hutson and 1450WLAF.com for covering our cookout and the formation of our local chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America. As a reminder, any veteran who served between August 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975 can become a member of Chapter 1148.
    Our founding principles:
“Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.”

VVA knows what returning veterans face. We have been through it before and we know that, despite all the rhetoric, returning veterans will face major problems. VVA will be here for as long as it takes to make sure that those who serve our country receive the care and respect they have earned.

John Rowan – President of VVA

  2. There is also a local chapter of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America being organized. AVVA is made up of Veterans of all eras, families and friends of Veterans, and all persons who support Veterans’ issues. AVVA is a catalyst for action, healing, reconciliation, mutual support, and fellowship. This local chapter is presently being organized by Vivian Loudy. If interested you may contact me at the phone number listed in the article. This organization gives almost anyone interested in supporting our veterans the opportunity to be involved.
