LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Back in 1978, when The Leader, a clothing store, closed, the Boston Store doubled in size.

Millard McKinney, owner and manager of the Boston Store, expanded the store size and dramatically increased the size of the sign out front.

In later years, McKinney moved the Boston Store into the old Powell 5 & 10 store building, and he moved the sign, too. These buildings are now part of Smith ACE Hardware and Lindsay’s Carpet & Paint Center. McKinney’s last location of the Boston Store now houses Ahh Spa.

Ahh Spa is in the one time Boston Store building that was once the Powell’s Dime Store.
