The City of LaFollette has scheduled a special called meeting to approve two bids on street paving.
The following special called meeting will be held on Monday November 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at LaFollette City Hall to act on the following item.
* Street cut repairs at Faith Way Ln and Sheba’s Way.
* Resurfacing of Myers Ln, Bluff Rd, and South 14 Street.

- Approval of bid $11,800.00 to Boshears Paving for street cut repairs at Faith Way Ln and Sheba’s Way.
- Approval of bid $131,780.00 to Rogers Group for resurfacing Myers Ln, Bluff Rd, and South 14th Street.

Why does the city have a public meeting at a time which they know most citizens, if any, will be able to attend and right before an election change over?
Additionally, under the Tennessee Open Meetings Act, any authorizations under this meeting are null and void due to notice timeframe and the inability of citizens to reasonably obtain authorization from employers to attend the meeting. This is even more important to scrutinize as bids are hastily being authorized. What is the urgency for not having this vote at the next normally scheduled council meeting.
