Merry Christmas!

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell High Senior George Tackett made his self imposed deadline to have The Rock ready to welcome students back today after the Thanksgiving holiday. “I think it looks pretty good,” said Tackett who came up with The Elf theme saying he wanted a more detailed look and a challenge for his first time painting The Rock.

Tackett was in Advanced Art Class last year and told Angie Bostic he would do the artwork after she asked. “The Johnson Twins, Joselyn and Madelyn, paint The Rock most of the time,” said Tackett.

George Tackett finished painting The Rock not long before sunset on Sunday.

It was mainly a solo effort though his mother, Jessica Goins, helped quite a bit in the project that took about 12 hours. He worked on the project a few hours each day from Thanksgiving Day until the completion late Sunday afternoon. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/28/2022-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
