LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – “This is the fifth time I’ve done this, and I’m happy to serve as the Mayor of La Follette again,” said a beaming Cliff Jennings at Thursday’s swearing in ceremony held at La Follette City Hall. WLAF’s Charlie Hutson shares his full photo gallery HERE.

Jennings was elected mayor last month while Stephanie Grimm Solomon was elected after being appointed to council almost two years ago to fill the unexpired term of Ann Thompson who resigned her post, and Chuck Queener, a political newcomer, was also elected. The trio was sworn in at noon yesterday by City Judge Kathy Parrott.

Stephanie Grimm Solomon is sworn in to serve on La Follette City Council as her husband DeWayne Solomon holds the Bible. City Judge Kathy Parrott recites the oath of office.

When asked about returning as mayor, Jennings responded by saying, “I’m tickled to death. We accomplished so much at my first workshop last week, and it was so pleasant.” The mayor is pleased with his council comprised of Phillip Farmer, Grimm-Solomon, Wayne Kitts and Queener. “I’m just so honored to have the council I’ve got, and it’s going to be a pleasure,” said Jennings.

Jennifer Queener holds the Bible as her husband Chuck Queener takes the oath of office for La Follette City Council.

The City of La Follette, like any other town, has its share of challenges, and the always frank Jennings is up for the challenge. “I’m looking forward to being everything we can to bring the city back to where it needs to be,” said Jennings.
