JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Shane Prater will be presented to the full county commission today at the 6pm meeting of the Campbell County Commission at the courthouse. Depending on how the vote goes will determine if the other finalist, Al Truhett, is presented.

The search to replace the retiring Kevin Walden as the Director of Veterans Affairs began with five applicants; Brad Borman, Tommy Higdon, Prater, Truhett and Dennis Varhall. The field was narrowed to two on Friday night. “This was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever made during an interview process. All the applicants are so good and so qualified,” said 3rd District County Commissioner Rusty Orick.

The Beer Board Committee meets today at 5:30pm at the courthouse-BEER BOARD MEETING IS CANCELED. The regular monthly meeting of the county commission follows at 6:00.
