LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A couple has been arrested, and one person is facing weapons and multiple drug charges.

On Christmas evening around 8 pm, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Phillips and Deputy Jacob Fox spoke with the occupants of a silver four door Acura on Coke Oven Lane, LaFollette. Deputy Fox spoke with the driver who was identified as Kayleigh Shawtina Parker. Deputy Phillips talked with the passenger, Cliff Justin Ayers.

Phillips was advised by officials at the jail that Parker had an active warrant for her arrest in general sessions court. Parker allegedly said she had two needles inside the sunglasses holder that should be empty. Phillips saw the syringes in the sunglass holder, one of the syringes contained a brownish, red liquid believed to be Methamphetamine that Ayers claimed as his. Phillips also saw a small clear plastic baggy that contained a white crystal residue, and inside the center console of the vehicle, there was a small clear plastic baggy. A second small clear plastic baggy that held a white powder residue was found inside a black backpack purse allegedly belonging to Parker, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Fox also found a pair of hard black metal knuckles known as “brass knuckles” in Ayers’ right back pocket. The duo was arrested and transported to the jail. During the intake process, a glass pipe with a white and brown burn residue was found inside Ayers’ underwear. Also found was a small clear plastic baggy with what was believed to be Heroin inside Ayers’ sock.

Parker, 20, 130 Judge Asbury Court, Jacksboro was charged with capias/bench warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ayers, 39, 2141 Pine Mountain Rd, LaFollette was charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance, introduction of contraband into a penal institution, possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession of prohibited weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia.
