As a result of the fallen tree, traffic sat on both sides of the clean up scene until the road was cleared. School Bus 40 was later than usual getting some students home Tuesday afternoon.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – As a chilly rain peppered down Tuesday afternoon, there was an occasional clap of thunder and a streak of lightning while crews worked to clear a large tree that fell across Pleasant Ridge Road. Around 3pm is when city crews were called to action.

Crews with La Follette Public Works, La Follette Utilities, La Follette Fire Department and La Follette Police worked to clear the tree, restore power and control traffic.

The tree fell over power lines and then Pleasant Ridge Road just before you get to the bottom of the hill at the LUB Waste Water Plant turn off.

It took a little more than an hour for the road to be reopened and power restored to three LUB customers. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/03/2022-5PM)
