NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – On Thursday, State Representative Dennis Powers was appointed as Chair of the Banking and Consumer Affairs Subcommittee.

Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton appointed Powers as Chairman of the House Banking and Consumer Affairs Subcommittee Committee for the 113th General Assembly.  Powers was also appointed to serve on four other committees.

“Tennessee has been named the best-run state in the Union, and I want to do my part to keep that high rating,” said Representative Powers.

“It is an honor to serve as a committee chairman for the third straight General Assembly.  I enjoy the committee process, the parliamentary procedures and rules that go along with being the chairman of a committee.
