TOP PHOTO: Snow fell and temperatures of 30 degrees were the conditions when firefighters arrived in the wee hours of Saturday morning to a major fire at Ext 141 of I-75.

It was almost four hours before fire crews cleared the scene.

PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – Firefighters with the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department had no sooner wrapped up working a Friday night ATV wreck when a fire call came in at 2:26am Saturday.

Caryville Firefighters were dispatched to the parking lot behind the Travel Centers of America (TA) truck repair shop at 168 Royal Lane. That’s just off I-75 at Exit 141.

Two tractors and one trailer were destroyed by fire on Saturday morning.

Upon arrival, as snow fell and temps sat at 30-degrees, firefighters found two tractor trailers on fire, fully involved, along with a trailer loaded with rolls of plastic on fire.

Mutual aid was requested from the Jacksboro and La Follette Fire Departments and the Campbell County Rural Fire Service.

There were no injuries in this fire.

All together five units and 13 firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. It was around 5am Saturday when all units cleared the scene.
