Linda Jane Brooks, age 75, of LaFollette passed away Monday, January 16, 2023. She was of the Church of God faith. She was a devoted Christian that loved her family and friends. Her favorite things were butterflies, going places with others, word searches and making others laugh.

Preceded in death by husband: Richard Brooks, daughter: Tammy Brooks, grandson: Mackenzie Smith, parents: Leon and Eloise Tibbs.

Survived by:

Sons: Ricky (Pat) Brooks, Allen (Misty) Brooks

Grandchildren: Kelsie, Travis, Tara, Richard Jr., Dylan, Dakota and James

15 Great-Grandchildren

Brothers: Eddie Tibbs and Larry Ray (Glenna) Tibbs

Sister: Shirley Sweat

Several nieces and nephews and several special friends

Family will receive friends 5-7 PM, Wednesday, January 18th at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel, Rev. Paul Sweat and Rev. Wesley Sweat officiating. Family and friends will meet Thursday 10 AM at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Powell Valley Cemetery for 11 AM Interment.

  1. Sorry to hear of Linda’s passing, she and I were classmates and as children we attended Ivey Dell Church of God. May God comfort her family and friends.
