A little more than a month ago, the Caryville Cares Playground team, along with the Campbell County Lions Club and the South Campbell County Rotary Club partnered for an inclusive coloring book project, which was distributed to all second graders across the county.

According to Caryville Cares Playground project team leader Brandon Johnson, the coloring books depict children who have various disabilities in order to teach children about inclusivity.

The project was paired with lessons for the teachers to teach inclusivity and kindness. The teacher that had the most participation earned the $500 grant for their classroom.

Johnson said the project went great, and “teachers and students did an awesome job.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/20/2023-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF CHARLOTTE UNDERWOOD AND PAT PEBLEY)
