Bessie Lawson, age 71 of Jacksboro passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 20, 2023. Bessie was a member of East Side Wesleyan Church on South Cumberland Avenue. She enjoyed watching the Tennessee Vols, a true diehard fan. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Mitchell Lawson; parents, Fred and Pearl Hunley; brothers William Turk Hunley, Don Hunley, and Paul James Hunley; sisters, Sue Watson and Anna Mae Webb; daughter-in-law, Katherine Renea Damron; grandchildren, James Keith Damron and Adam Lee Brewer; great-grandchildren, Eli and Dakota Hislope.

Bessie is survived by her sons, Bobby Gene Damron II, James Wilton Damron, and Terri of LaFollette, Michael Genton of Kentucky, daughter Hope Ann Genton of KY; brothers Clarance Hunly of West Liberty, KY, Carl Hunley of Dayton, OH; sister, Margaret Browning of LaFollette; 20 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; close friends, Christie Michael Damron and Samantha Aline Huckaby both of LaFollette; her ex-husband, Bob Damron of Shelby Gap, KY;  several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 1 PM. Interment will follow the funeral service at Damron Cemetery in Coolidge.
