LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Campbell County until 8:30am Thursday.

Severe weather potential looms Thursday and Thursday night.

* Flash Flood Warning for…  Central Campbell County in east Tennessee… Northeastern Anderson County in east Tennessee…  West Central Claiborne County in east Tennessee…  Northwestern Union County in east Tennessee…
* Until 830 AM EST.

* At 526 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or  expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…  La Follette, Jacksboro, Caryville, Rocky Top, Fincastle, Norris  Dam State Park, Disney and Cove Lake State Park.
