Will Lester’s first football jersey was orange-n-black, and his last will be as well when he suits up for Union.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – “Right there’s his first jersey. He started at age four wearing orange-n-black, and he’ll finish his career wearing orange-n-black,” said Brent Lester. The elder Lester had quite the football career himself, and this afternoon, he watched his son Will sign scholarship papers to play for the orange-n-black clad Bulldogs of Union College.

There was a large turnout for Will Lester’s signing on Tuesday at Brown Gym on the Campbell High Campus.

Naturally Lester is excited for his son, Will, but he’s also touched by his love for the game. Lester has coached his son in some form or fashion almost every step of the way through his 2022 senior season. “I knew when I saw him cry after his last high school game that he truly loves the game. You can’t coach love of the sport,” said Brent Lester.

Lots of Will Lester’s family turned out for his big day.

“I’m glad he still speaks to me. I’ve really pushed him hard over the years preparing him for this,” said Brent Lester. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/07/2023-2PM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S JOSH PARKER)
