JACKSBORO, TN. – (WLAF)- After the City of LaFollette has not responded to his requests for a proper hearing, Rob Woodson is taking the fight to Campbell County Chancery Court.

On Jan. 19, Woodson filed a motion in LaFollette City Court asking that a Cease and Desist order filed by the city be vacated. The city has alleged Woodson’s use of a building is in contradiction with city ordinances. CLICK HERE for more information.

As of Feb. 7, the city’s response was to place the matter on the planning commission’s agenda. That is not a viable solution, according to the Motion for Declaratory Judgement filed last week in chancery court by Woodson. He further contends the planning commission is not the proper venue for the issue to be settled.

Woodson wants the case heard in chancery court. He is also asking the court to stop the City of LaFollette from enforcing the Cease and Desist Order until this matter is fully resolved.

The city abused its power in issuing the Cease and Desist Order as well as requiring Woodson to appear before the planning commission, the filing said. To read the entire filing click below.

Along with these items, Woodson has asked the court to be reimbursed for his legal expenses.
