LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts have left marks around Campbell County after a few stormy stretches of weather from Thursday into Friday. “It was bad around 2am today, but it is looking a lot better now,” said Campbell County Road Superintendent Ron Dilbeck.

Three downed trees were reported to Central Dispatch overnight along with two motor vehicle accidents on I-75 in the early hours of Friday. Debris was scattered from heavy rainfall, flooding and strong wind gusts. Spotty power outages have cropped up along the way as well. A flood advisory and flood warning expired Friday at 5:30am, and Campbell County Schools called off Friday classes due to flooding concerns.

Improvements in the weather begin Friday morning as rain chances diminish. Cooler air is moving in sending temperatures into the 30s for Friday. Friday brings a brisk day with temps holding steady in the 30s. Sun will break through the clouds at times today. After a low of 24 Friday night, temperatures moderate Saturday, Sunday and Monday with highs in the 50s and sunshine. Lows will be in the 30s over the holiday weekend.
