POWELL, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell Lady Cougars claimed third place in Monday’s District 3-AAAA Girls Basketball Tournament with a 55-47 win over Powell on the Lady Panthers homecourt. At Farragut, the Lady Admirals defeated Maryville 55-47 to take third place in the District 4-AAAA Girls Tourney.

Oak Ridge broke open a close game to sew up the District 3 Championship by defeating Karns 65-47 at Powell’s Hunter Gym. Meanwhile, back at Sexton Gym, the defending state champion Bearden Lady Bulldogs moved to 31-0 with a 62 to 48 victory over Heritage on Farragut’s home floor.

Friday’s opening round of the Region 2 Tournament tips off at 7pm, and the bracket looks like this:

#3 Campbell 14 & 17 at #2 Heritage 24 & 6

#4 Powell 11 & 16 at #1 Bearden 31 & 0

#4 Maryville 13 & 19 at #1 Oak Ridge 20 & 9

#3 Farragut 21 & 10 at #2 Karns 19 & 12
