According to officials, a car swung too wide and bumped a Campbell County School Bus.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – “Everyone onboard was checked out by the nurse and Campbell County EMS personnel, and everyone is fine,” said Robbie Heatherly, Director of Transportation for Campbell County Schools. A Campbell County School Bus was bumped by a car around 7:40am at La Follette Middle School. About a dozen students along with the driver were on the bus, according to Heatherly.

Robbie Heatherly, Director of Transportation for Campbell County Schools, in the navy sport coat, was on scene within minutes to check on all involved in a Thursday morning school bus mishap.

Heatherly goes on to say that Bus 46 was sitting still at the east side turn in to the LMS parking lot when a car swung too wide and barely bumped the bus. “A small piece of plastic came off the bus, and that was it,” said Heatherly.

No one was injured when a car bumped Bus 46 at La Follette Middle School.

La Follette Police Officers were already on scene directing traffic when the accident happened. La Follette Fire Department First Responders were soon there with Campbell County EMS. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/23/2023-8:30AM)

  1. Glad everyone is okay, the traffic is horrible there and at Lafollette elementary during the school zones , it’s just a matter of time until someone is seriously hurt!
