Wlaf1450Dana Lynn Smith, age 74, of LaFollette died on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at home. He was born on February 17, 1949, in Campbell County. He was a Past Master of Valley Lodge 383 of Andersonville, a member of the Shriners, and a member of the Honor Guard of LaFollette. He worked 25 years at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge where he was MMCER of the year 2006. He served 25 years in the National Guard. He enjoyed traveling, building houses, and collecting antique watches and razor knifes. He enjoyed going to church where he attended Woodlake Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by Father and Mother: Emmitte and Dora Elkins Smith, Brothers: Delmer, R. L., Dale and Emmitte Jr. Smith.
He is survived by wife of 53 years Alma Sue Cooper Smith of LaFollette, Son: Todd Lynn Smith, Granddaughters: Martina and Madison Smith of Anderson County, Father and Mother-in-Law: Clifford and Ruth Cooper, Sister: Margie Silcox and a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.

Family will receive friends 5-7 PM, Sunday, February 26th at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel, Rev. George Asbury officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 AM, Monday, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for Interment with Military Honors by Campbell County Honor Guard.
