JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Commodity distributions are scheduled for today and tomorrow in Campbell County. The first is Tuesday, March 7, at the Jellico Library at 104 North Main Street from 10am to noon or until the food is gone. The other distribution is on Wednesday, March 8, at the La Follette Community Center, the former West La Follette School, on 300 West Beech Street from 8:30am until noon or until the food is gone.

If you don’t have a card for getting USDA Commodities, you must bring proof that you receive food stamps, TANF (Families First), an SSI letter, LIHEAP and/or living in the Public Housing. If you don’t have any of these, you will need to bring your proof of all household income.

The staff at ETHRA requests that no one arrive more than 30 minutes ahead of the start time.  Arriving too early creates congestion and confusion.

Everyone must bring a box, bag or crate to carry your USDA commodities food.  ETHRA does not provide containers.

People can only pick up for three households.

In accordance with federal law, both ETHRA and the USDA are prohibited from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

If you have any questions, you can call Renee at the local Campbell County ETHRA Office at 423.562.2948 extension 5202.  Darlene’s extension is 5201.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/07/2023-6AM)
