PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – Lifestar touched down at its landing zone (LZ), the Camel Manufacturing parking lot just off Exit 141 of I-75 at 4:15pm Wednesday. Moments later, First Responders reported that they were coming out of the woods with the patient and will soon meet up with the med chopper.

First Responders are working with an ATV accident victim at this hour. Just before 3:30pm, the call of an ATV rollover came in to Central Dispatch. First Responders with the La Follette Rescue Squad, the Caryville Fire Department and Campbell County EMS responded to the area of ATV Trail 10 just outside the Ride Royal Blue Resort. That’s east of I-75.

One First Responder described that the ATV flipped end over end. The lone occupant was ejected from the ATV.

A medical helicopter is preparing to land near I-75 to fly the 25-year old man to a Knoxville hospital. After some discussion, it was determined that the med chopper will be best served to land on the Camel Manufacturing property just off Exit 141. The LZ change switched from the Exit 144 bridge which spans I-75 to the Camel site.

The initial report is that the side-by-side the man was driving overturned. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/01/2023-3:45PM)
