JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Thursday night the Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met with a short agenda that consisted of regular monthly meeting business and citizens comments. Two citizens were present for comments; one about a license for a liquor store and the other short term rentals.

Mark Hutson approached the board about the possibility of the Town of Jacksboro issuing a liquor license. Hutson and his wife had collected 300 signatures in support of a liquor license. Hutson told the board he already had a location for a liquor store. City Attorney Steve Hurst advised the board it needed to speak with MTAS first, then look at having an open workshop to get a sense of where the community stands on the issue and then look at a referendum.

Todd Evans spoke with the board about reinstated short term rentals in the B2 zones. Evans stated that currently short term rentals were only allowed in B1 and B3 zones. After a brief discussion, the board told Evans he would need to go before the planning commission first. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/03/2023-6AM)
