LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A Campbell County teen was airlifted to a Knoxville hospital on Tuesday evening following a tragic accident. He was accidentally run over by a car driven by his best friend in the parking lot of Big Lots.

As of Wednesday afternoon, officials at the University of Tennessee Medical Center list the young man’s condition as critical-stable. He is recovering in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).

It was a couple of minutes before 8pm when a med chopper lifted off the pavement of the Big Lots parking lot carrying an injured young man to a Knoxville hospital.
