LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- Quality service at home. That is what Ironing Maidens is promising. It is also what new owners Hank and Lori Hamblin promise when you choose to do business with them.

“We all know its important to take care of your clothes,” said Lori Hamblin. “Now you can do it without having to drive to Knoxville.”

In Dec. 2022, the Hamblins purchased the dry cleaners located in the old Whiteway Plaza. Since that time, they have renovated the interior and added new services. They also have non-stop 80’s music for those with nostalgic tendencies.

As wedding season approaches, Ironing Maidens is offering wedding gown preservation for $199. With most wedding dresses costing well into four figures, preserving it to “hand it down,” can easily be done in town, Hamblin said.

Ironing Maidens has a wedding gown preservation service for $199 per dress.

Ironing Maidens also has standard dry cleaning, a wash and fold service, as well as linen cleaning. The store “strives for a 48 hour” turnaround on it services, she said. The wash and fold service is $2.50 a pound and includes packaging.

Seamstress services are also available at Ironing Maidens. This too is full service with the turnaround time being determined by the size of the job.

Hank Hamblin, who spent his career in the military, felt it was important to honor those who did and still serve, his wife said. That is why Ironing Maidens offers a discount to first responders, veterans, active military and JROTC. “You can’t put a price on what they do,” said Lori Hamblin. The store also presses all flags at no charge for those being buried with military honors.

The Hamblins credit their staff, Deb Sharp and Cassie Overbay, for creating the welcoming environment in the store. “We couldn’t do it without them,” Lori Hamblin said.
