Adam Albright is facing several charges to go along with six outstanding felony warrants, according to police.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Speeding through a school zone is generally a good way to get special attention from officers working the zone. That’s what happened to Adam Albright on Monday afternoon while behind the wheel of a black pick-up truck, according to La Follette Police Det. Sgt. Noah Riggs. Albright was clocked at 45mph in the 25 mile per hour school zone, based on jail records.

Albright sped through the school zone at La Follette Middle School prompting Officer Aaron Adkins to pursue Albright, Riggs said. The officer was preparing to stop in front of Y-12 Federal Credit Union, near the La Follette Medical Center, where Albright had pulled over. “Albright took off when Aaron pulled over. He took off so fast and accelerated at such a high rate of speed, Aaron soon discontinued the pursuit as a safety precaution through town,” said Riggs.

The apartment complex sits one block off West Central Avenue.

Albright ended up traveling north on Jellico Highway out of La Follette. “He then wrecked his vehicle over an embankment at Ivydale,” said Riggs.

“We did some investigating and learned Albright was staying with family members at an apartment in La Follette,” Riggs added. Officers with LPD and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office worked together just after 9:30am Tuesday to locate and arrest Albright at an apartment complex at the corner of West Walden and South 11th Streets in La Follette.

Jail records reveal that Albright was last booked in the fall of 2021.

The next court date for Albright, 28, 206 East Bowman Lane, La Follette, is May 2. He was charged with felony evading arrest, 45 miles per hour in a 25mph school zone, violation of the Tennessee Financial Law and registration law, assault, vandalism and capias bench warrant.
