LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – There were three emergencies in a span of about two hours on Thursday afternoon-evening. As the result of two of those mishaps, a medical helicopter airlifted two patients to a Knoxville hospital.

Two people were injured in this motorcycle wreck.

At 5:30pm Thursday, a motorcycle wrecked on West High Knob Road not far from Lonas Young Park/The White Bridge. The bike went over an embankment injuring two people. One person was transported by air to a Knoxville hospital while the other patient was taken by a ground ambulance to the La Follette Medical Center.

Just before sunset is when this medical chopper landed on the Campbell High Soccer Field.

First Responders had no sooner finished working the motorcycle wreck when another call came in at 7:06pm. A player was injured during a soccer match being played at Campbell High. Officials report that a boy, suffering a possible neck injury, was airlifted from the soccer field.

The Campbell County Rural Fire Service answered the call of a vehicle on fire on Thursday evening. At 7:45pm, firefighters extinguished that fire on the General Carl Stiner Highway (Hwy 63) at Suttles Lane. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/05/2023-7:30AM)
