Roy S. Rowe, age 83, of the Kensee Hollow Community of Whitley County, Kentucky, passed away Sunday morning, May 7, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 8, 1940, to the late Luther Rowe and Matilda (Rose) Rowe in Jellico, KY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo (Cox) Rowe; son, Tony Rowe; 11 brothers and sisters; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, David Cox and Evelyn (Sharp) Cox.

He was a member of New Beginnings Church of God in Fairview, KY.

He is survived by five sons, Teddy Rowe, and wife, Sue, Dewayne Rowe, and wife, Donna, Billy Rowe, and wife, Edna, all of Kensee, KY, Roger Rowe, and wife, Beth, of the Buck Creek Community of Whitley County, KY, and Kenny Rowe, and wife, Kathy, of Kensee, KY; 20 grandchildren, James Rowe, Heather Rowe, Havin Rowe, Kennison Rowe, Mercedes Rowe, Dewayne Rowe, Jr., and wife, Amanda, Dustin Rowe, Tarsha Rowe, Billy Rowe, Jr., Donovan Rowe, Peyton Rowe, John Riley Rowe, Aaron Luke Rowe, Kenny Rowe, Luther Rowe, Katie Rowe, Shawn Rowe, and wife, Ashlee, Jake Rowe, Kendra Rowe, and Amy Rowe.

Roy is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Rowe, and wife, Delores; sister, Jewelene Rowe; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Cheek, all of Williamsburg, KY; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Rev. Sam Walden and wife, Diane, and daughter, Michelle; and a host of other friends, neighbors, and relatives to mourn his passing.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 10, 2023,beginning at 12:00 noon at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral will follow on Wednesday afternoon, May 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Walden and Rev. Leslie Kidd officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in the Kensee Cemetery located in Whitley County, KY.
