CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – On Monday night, the Town of Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen held a workshop to discuss potential upgrades and additions to the municipal building.

Main Street Studio Architects was present to present a full scope proposal to the board. The proposal detailed upgrades to the fire department, police department, library, front entry, administrative offices, kitchen and bathrooms.

The fire department would have a two bay addition, making room for the police department to expand. The library could potentially expand and have a separate entrance. The proposal would allow for the administrative offices, kitchen and bathrooms to be upgraded.

Before any design work could begin, the architects would need the “as built” plans for the municipal building. Once they have the plans, they can move forward beginning with the development phase, then to construction documents, next would be the bid out process and the final step would be construction.

The renovations and additions would encompass about 5,300 square feet and could be done in stages. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/10/2023-6AM)
