Robert M. (Bob) Kibler, age 90, of LaFollette, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Preceded in death by parents: S.V. and Olive Kibler, sisters: Hazel Boshears, Ruth Kibler, Pearl Mehnert and husband Turk. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church LaFollette where he served as deacon and on several other committees for many years. A 1959 graduate of Lincoln Memorial University he continued with his career with First Federal Savings and Loan, where he served as Vice-President, later he served as black lung coordinator for REACHS. Robert was a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving his country from 1953 to 1956 as a combat engineer, he also served as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 435 and 429 from 1970 to 1984 and coached with the LaFollette Junior Pro Training League as well. Robert was recognized on July 7, 2020 by the State of Tennessee House of Representatives of the One Hundred Eleventh General Assembly for his distinguished service to his community.

Sons: Rob and wife Amy Kibler, Doug and wife Donna Kibler

Grandchildren: Kassie Kibler, Blake Kibler, Macy Kibler, Makenzie Kibler

Family and friends will meet 9:30 AM Saturday at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Powell Cemetery for 10:30 AM interment, with Military Honors by Campbell County Honor Guard.

  1. Bob was my scout master from 1972 to 1976 when my family moved. With his help and support I received my Eagle. He was a mentor, a person who made a difference in my life and the lives of many other youth. He was a good man. RIP Bob
