LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – On this Throwback Thursday, we’re looking at the corner of East Beech and South Indiana Avenue. On the left was Hack’s Bargain Barn, the two story house beyond Hack’s looking toward Central is today where the former Thompson’s Furniture building is. This image is from the 1970s. Notice the Chevrolet Vega at the traffic light. This red light and the one at the corner of Beech & Tennessee Avenue were removed in November 1980. Both these corners become four way stops. On the right, the wooden fence was part of Glen Oaks (The Lafollette House) property. Today, this is Angel Square where Deborah & Company is located. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 06/22/2023-6AM)
