
JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Today is the first day high school football teams across Tennessee can practice in full pads but only for athletes who have completed the heat acclimation process. The Campbell Cougars are ready to go.
“We plan on practicing at 7:00 AM until school starts, and we’ll have have picture day next Wednesday, July 28 at 8:00 AM,” said Campbell Head Coach Justin Price. Campbell opens its 2023 schedule Thursday, August 17, at Halls. WLAF has all the live coverage.
Campbell scrimmages are set for Friday, July 28, at South Doyle 6:00 PM and Thursday, August 3, vs. Knoxville Central at Campbell at 6:00 PM.

The Jamboree quarter is Friday, August 11, at Hardin Valley. “The first quarter is at 7:00 PM, and we will play South Doyle in second quarter,” said Coach Price.
The Cougars 2023 football schedule includes some firsts; two Thursday games and nine of ten 7:00pm kick-offs along with two first-time opponents. CCHS plays The Kings Academy and Daniel Boone in inaugural meetings. The Thursday games serve as bookends to the season.
