Lois Jean Goins, age 87 of the Bethlehem community went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning surrounded by her family. Lois was born to the late Bill and Sallie “Goins” McNeeley on July 25, 1935. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She loved to cook and enjoyed talking to her family and friends that she loved very much. She also loved to listen to gospel singing. Lois married the love of her life, John Goins on September 18, 1956. Together they sung for many years on WLAF Radio and traveled to many churches singing for the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sallie McNeeley; husband, John Goins; two sons, Ronnie and Stevie Goins; brothers, Carl, Clyde, and Dennis McNeeley; sisters, Annalee Hatfield, Nora Nelson, and Lucille Wilson.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Goins and wife Marquita of LaFollette, Rick Goins of Jacksboro, and Jerry Goins of Knoxville; daughter, Sandy Freeman and husband Rev. Bo Freeman of LaFollette; grandchildren, Jason Freeman and wife Jessica of LaFollette, Ricky Wayne Goins and wife Jaymi of Jacksboro, Nikki Hall and husband Cody of Rocky Top, Colton Goins and wife Celia of LaFollette, and Kaylee Proffitt and husband Paul of LaFollette; great-grandchildren, Haley, Johnathan, Lauren, Bentley, Maddox, Tylee, and one on the way; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins along with her church family; special neighbors, Annette Jones and Wilma Tolliver.

The family of Lois Goins will receive friends on Sunday July 9, 2023 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 4 PM with Rev. Kevin Reynolds and Rev. Bill Braden officiating. Interment to follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Tennova Hospice for their loving care and kindness shown, especially nurses, Mary, Trenton, Daphne, Bethany, Laura, Melissa, and Dr. Narula and his staff.
