Veteran owned and operated Dirt Road Recovery LLC is WLAF’s featured business of the week. Located next to Food Lion, the shop can handle off road vehicle repairs, maintenance, performance upgrades and more. Dirt Road Recovery also recovers vehicles off trail for repair, does certain repairs on trail and delivers parts to the trail for those who want to do the repair themselves.

“If it runs off road, Dirt Road Recovery can fix it,” said owner Charlie Black.

He and his wife Valerie held a grand opening in late April and said they were thankful for the community support of their new business.

Black is a Campbell County native who was born and raised in the Stinking Creek area. He is an Army veteran who trained as a truck mechanic and graduated top of his class.

Dirt Road Recovery is located next to Food Lion at 1945 General Carl W Stiner Hwy, LaFollette TN 3776.

“I was sent to vehicle recovery school and I fell in love with that,” Black said. He spent five years active duty in the military and was stationed in Germany for two years, two years in Colorado, one year in Texas and six months in Hungary. Afterwards he said he wanted to spend more time with his family and started the business.

“Starting the business has allowed me to be with my family; my two beautiful little girls every day,” Black said.

As a military veteran, Black said he wants to honor other vets and first responders by giving them 15 percent off service costs.

Dirt Road Recovery does maintenance, repairs and performance upgrades to a multitude of vehicles including 4wheelers, side-by-sides, golf carts, dirt bikes, 4 x 4 vehicles, Jeeps, trucks and more. They also are dealers with Rough Country, Extreme Terrain, American Trucks & American Muscle and Super ATV.
