JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) at Jacksboro and TCAT Oneida/Huntsville have been awarded the Adult Education Grant for July 1, 2023, through June 30th 2027.

According to TCAT Jacksboro President Debbie Petree, the Technology college is “excited to be a part of helping individuals reach their potential.” 

TCAT Adult Education offers free classes for Basic Skills training in Language Arts Reading, Language Arts Writing and Math for those seeking a high school equivalency diploma (HSE), post secondary remediation, employability skills and digital literacy skills; as well as on the job training for employees who need assistance with reading and math.

“We look forward to serving our local communities in Campbell, Claiborne, Granger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Morgan, Roane and Scott Counties. Our mission is to help participants obtain, retain, and advance in their employment goals,”  Petree said. 

Adult Education also offers career counseling and goal planning for all participants.

“It is our goal to build community partnerships with employers and educational institutions to build career pipelines for our participants,” Petree said.
