PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – Two people died Sunday night along I-75 in Campbell County when their pick-up truck was struck by an 18-wheeler, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. HERE is the related story.

The THP report said Ali Abdullahi, 33, of Alberta, was behind the wheel of a 2020 Freightliner FM2. The big rig was traveling south through Campbell County on I-75 just before 7pm Sunday.

Another vehicle, a 2003 Ford F350, with a loaded trailer, was sitting on the right shoulder of I-75 south at Mile Marker 150.4, 10 miles south of Jellico. The driver of the tractor-trailer lost control and hit the pick-up and trailer, based on the report from the THP. Both vehicles came to an uncontrolled final rest on the right shoulder of I-75.

The THP reports that this pick-up was hit by an 18-wheeler.

The driver and his passenger in the Ford pick-up died in the crash. They were identified as 60-year old Julian Keyes, the driver, and Shanetta Ervin, 51, both of Georgia.
