CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A Knoxville man was arrested and released in less than five hours after being stopped for speeding by a Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper on Tuesday morning.

Based on intake details, 22-year- old Austin Williams was clocked at 128 miles per hour in a 65-MPH zone. Williams was southbound on I-75 in Campbell County and was pulled over at Mile Marker 138, three miles south of the Huntsville-Oneida Exit.

Through July 26, troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol have investigated six fatal accidents in Campbell County; four on I-75, one on Stinking Creek Road and one on Jellico Highway.

Williams was charged with reckless driving, due care and speeding at 128MPH in a 65MPH zone.
