CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – This is a look back 50 years ago. The LaFollette Chamber of Commerce Tourist Information’s Little Building sat at the I-75 south bound exit in Caryville.

The building was on the parking lot at the entrance to the Colonial House Restaurant and Gift Shop, where the current Shoney’s is. LaFollette Chamber of Commerce members would man the building daily handing out information packets along with coupons for free or discounted items and services at LaFollette chamber businesses. They would also provide maps showing you how to get to the lake and local docks. Boating, fishing and camping information was included.

Some chamber members who remembered this, said this was a very successful campaign. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/27/2023-6AM)
