LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Jakes Day 2023 is here! This is our 12th year hosting Jakes Day, and we are very excited. We look forward to having you!

We have a full list of youngsters attending, and we are hoping for a fun filled day. Registration is closed, and we will not be accepting any at the gate.

Please let the organizers know if you are unable to attend. There are several kids on a waiting list that would love to come in your place, if you are no longer able to attend as planned.

JAKES Day will take place rain or shine. Please dress as weather indicates. Parents are invited to eat lunch with us at no charge.

You just never know what you may see or do at JAKES Day.

VOLUNTEERS must be registered and at the volunteer meeting at 8:00 AM. PLEASE don’t be late.

This is where we will tell you where you are stationed to help! If you have signed up to help, we have you stationed, have ordered you a T-shirt and are counting on you to be there! PLEASE show up!

For the youngsters participating, please arrive no later than 8:30 AM.

Volunteers or parents who can also help with setup this week are most welcome to come help. We will be working Thursday and Friday nights at 6:00 PM. Also on Saturday, we would appreciate anyone that can volunteer to arrive early to finish setup and also stay around afterwards and help us clean up.

You will want to wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes and/or rain boots in case it is muddy on Saturday.

Prizes will include BB Guns, youth shotguns, fishing rods, and more– (MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN)–so don’t leave early!

We have a great time organizing this event each year. It is a lot of hard work by a group of dedicated volunteers. Be sure to thank our volunteers if you have a chance on Saturday.

Our committee members will be wearing BLUE shirts and other volunteers will be wearing NEON GREEN shirts. We will be providing T-shirts to the kids again this year so remember to keep those with you during the day if you wish to tie dye them at that rotation.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday! Also, if you can stay around Saturday and help us clean up, that would be much appreciated.
