“We may have had the biggest changes on defense since I’ve been here,” said Campbell’s 13th year head coach Justin Price. A high powered, experienced offensive returns joined by a new punter, two new kickers and a new return man.
“Our defense will be in a 4-2 look this season. We will be more aggressive out of that look, and we’ll be blitzing, too. Our players have picked it up quite well,” said Price.
The Cougars offensive line is experienced and has a very high football IQ. “They communicate so well with each other,” said Price. The veteran head coach feels confident in both his running game and passing game with this line.
“You, know, Landen is one of the best quarterbacks in the state. He threw for 3,200 yards and 39 touchdowns as a sophomore last season alone,” said Price. Coach is talking about Landen Hensley whom he describes as an even better, if you can believe it, Landen this season.
Special teams features two new kickers in Ryland Sanders and Nathan Massengill. Hensley will handle the punting duties. Speedy Timmy Gibson will return kicks and punts.
Halls was 2 & 9 last season while Campbell finished 5 & 5 for the regular season losing its opening game in the playoffs to end the year at 5 & 6.
