KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A first half goal line stand may well have been the turning point of Thursday’s football opener for the Campbell Cougars. Halls held Campbell out of the end zone just as the Cougars were poised to ring up a second touchdown. The 7-3 score remained in Campbell’s favor, but the momentum seemed to begin slipping away for the Orange and Blue from there forward.

Halls retook the lead at 10-7 only to see Campbell take a 14-10 edge to the locker room. Halls kicked to Campbell to start the second half. However, it was the third quarter where Landen Hensley threw two rare interceptions, and the Red Devils turned those miscues into points.

The Red Devils posted 31 second half points enroute to the 41-14 win. Halls goes to 1 & 0 while the Cougars are 0 & 1.
