JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A car and a dump truck collided around 7am Monday blocking the four lane’s west bound side about a half mile southwest of Jacksboro Middle School.

The preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol details that 20-year old John Stanley was driving a 2008 Toyota Carolla while 45-year old Randy Baird was behind the wheel of a 14-wheel dump truck, a 1995 Freightliner.

The report outlines that the Toyota was turning onto the four lane (Hwy 25W-Hwy 63) from Myers Street as the dump truck was headed toward Caryville (west). The Toyota pulled out from Myers Street striking the Freightliner, according to the THP preliminary report.

The car and truck came to uncontrolled final stops on Highway 25W with the dump truck ending upside down.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts with Baird suffering injuries. There were no charges. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/21/2023-7PM-PHOTO COURTESY OF WLAF ROAD WARRIOR JAMES PHILLIPS-UPDATED – 08/22/2023-3AM)
