JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Gibbs is a long time football community. Campbell has become a football community. So, perhaps it’s only fitting the two programs have appeared on each other’s schedules every year, except two, since 2013. Campbell has won six times entering this 10th meeting, a 7:30pm kick-off Friday. They did not meet last year nor in 2021.

“It’s like you turn on the film, and it’s the same Gibbs team we saw the time before and before that. They are so consistent in what they do,” said Campbell Head Coach Justin Price. The coach, in his 13th season, explains that Gibbs can beat you in different ways, and their offense can be high powered and also grind it out and control the clock. “They want to create turnovers with their defense,” adds Price.

Gibbs is 4 & 1 with no close games except its 24-13 loss to arch rival Halls, a team that won over Campbell 41-14. The Cougars are 2 & 6 entering this non-region game.

Kick-off is 7:30pm in the second of three straight home games for Campbell. Coverage begins at 7pm, and can be watched right here over WLAF’s Lindsay’s Carpet & Paint Center video player.

Since 1975, WLAF and the Doyle’s Tire Shop Network will once again have all the coverage of Campbell Football. The voices and faces of WLAF’s broadcast team are broadcasting in their 13th season. Les Martin and Brent Allen send you all the excitement over WLAF’s ten media outlets covering radio, television and social media. Airtime for game with Gibbs is 7pm with the kickoff at 7:30pm on Friday, Sep. 29.
