Lifestar landed on the nearby La Follette Medical Center helipad to airlift a patient from the wreck.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Two cars collided on the newly paved East Central Avenue, and one car veered away hitting a stop sign and a pole.

Air bags deployed for the driver of a Ford SUV. That vehicle hit the pole and stop sign while the Subaru Impreza remained in the roadway. The mishap occurred where East Beech Street angles into East Central Avenue in the shadow of the La Follette Medical Center, Campbell County EMS Office and the helipad.

Two cars collided late Wednesday morning on East Central Avenue.

The driver of the Ford was airlifted to a Knoxville hospital. No one else was seriously injured, according to officials.

La Follette Fire and Police along with the Campbell County EMS responded.

The driver’s airbag deployed.
