LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – UPDATE: Officials with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department said there were no indications of foul play. The body has been sent for an autopsy. (9/26/2023- 2:56PM)
A La Follette man was reported by his family to have gone missing on Sunday around lunch time.
Late Monday afternoon, Campbell County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives were searching for Mark Kitts in the Elbow Hollow area near Norris Lake and came across Kitts’ ATV at 5pm. About a half hour later, Kitts body was discovered on the lake bank at the edge of the water. Members of the La Follette Rescue Squad were called to recover the body in an area not far from Alder Springs Road.
LRS officials confirm that the body of Mark Kitts was recovered near the Hidden Springs subdivision at the end Elbow Hollow Lane.
Investigators with the sheriff’s office are handling the investigation. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/26/2023-2AM)

I grew up with the Kitts boys i think the world of Scott and his brother mark. Im really sorry to hear this mark had a heart of an angel. Loved everyone. Heaven definitely gained an angel. Praying for Scott and his family 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️

Mark Kitts was a brother to everyone who knew him. He was kind, loving, and just an all around great guy to us who love him. Will never forget this angel to us here on earth.
I thought the world of mark..he was a special kind of person..would do anything to help you .I can’t believe he is gone ..I can’t see anyone wanting to hurt him..I don’t know what happened but it’s broke my heart .Scott is also our special friend . praying for all the family because I know they are going thru a lot..but the Lord will take you thru..just depend on him..Love you all always 💜❤️

I am so sorry to know this! I went to highschool with him. We weren’t close because he didn’t have the time. I remember him conversating always on the go! I pray for the family! God bless everyone and everything!
