  1. Boomer was one of the original go-getters of the news business and an avid history buff. Boomer was one of what I call the “Jewels of Campbell County”. Once you met him, you could not help but like being around him. He was a special person.

  2. I met Boomer 40 years ago. I loved his writing ability and his humor. When I was the County Executive he had nicknames for me and all the commissioners. His stories about us were always critical and humorous. He was a true journalist and a wealth of knowledge. RIP my friend.

    1. I remember him so well. When I managed Pizza King and Steakhouse he would pop in and eat. I remember a medium well ribeye, thousand island on his salad, extra dressing. He left important paperwork on his table and I saved them for him. I knew they were important. I was 19 at the time. Everyonce in a while he’d order a hot fudge cake but, he never made a habit of it. Man he sure had a great mind!
